Ashtanga Yoga – Led Class

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois) is a dynamic system which gracefully synchronises breathing and movement. Its objective is to promote a strong flexible body and focused mind. 

In this class you will gradually learn and enjoy a gentle approach to the Ashtanga Sequence (Half Primary Series).

The Ashtanga Vinyasa practice begins with about five repetitions of Surya Namaskara A and B, followed by the standard standing sequence and then sitting sequence, ending in a standard closing sequence.

Each week you can look forward to this similar structure, and similar flow of asanas/postures.

This is the beauty of Ashtanga Yoga - a structured sequence and routine you will become familiar with. With repetition this practice acts like a moving mediation where we are calming the mind, and where you can find your pace. 

Everyone is welcome to join, from experienced practitioners to first comers. Modifications are always offered to allow a well-balanced individual practice.
